Student travel awards for the IAB Cape Town meeting.

If you are a student or have a student who might like to present a paper at the International Association of Bryologists (IAB) meeting in South Africa, students who are members of IAB are eligible for a travel award. If the student is not currently a member, it is still possible to join. Visit the IAB website <http://www.bryology.org/> to learn more about the meeting and about joining IAB.

The IAB Council announces the availability of 6 student travel awards of up to US $200 for the Cape Town meeting. These awards will be available to the first 6 students who apply for the award. Students must satisfy the following criteria:

1. Be a member of IAB
2. Provide proof they are Ph. D. students (a statement from the advisor will suffice), Ph. D. candidates or Master students
3. Provide proof that they have an accepted abstract for a paper or poster presentation at the 2009 IAB meeting
4. Provide a budget of expenses for travel to and housing at the meeting
5. List other sources of funding for attending the meeting
6. Applications for the award must be RECEIVED by 7 July 2009
7. Applications should be sent by email attachment to Blanka Shaw
8. Awards will be announced about 10 July 2009.
