Creation of the Bryological Foundation Philippe De Zuttere

Dear Bryological colleagues

We have the pleasure to announce the creation of the Bryological Foundation Philippe De Zuttere, which has taken place Saturday 23^rd of October 2010.

The main aim of this foundation is to promote bryology in Belgium, but also to grant a prize (in euros) to all Belgian or European students who’d like to realize a work in the domain of field bryology and who’d see this work compensated by a jury, composed of eminent specialists.

In the following weeks, regulation for this prize will be elaborated and made available for all the candidates who are interested in.

Also, a website is in the making and will contain all the information you need: www.nowellia.be.

Among the other activities already launched, we can observe the realization of a high definition film on the bryoflora of the Viroin-Hermeton nature Park in the spring of 2011, as well as the edition of a book for the layman on the same subject.
